Wondering how to spice up your fish dish? Well, here is a simple way to turn what could be a boring dish into something mouthwatering that will make people go back for a second serving. Here is how to make ‘mchuzi wa samaki wa nazi‘.

Ingredients

1kg kingfish (fried very slightly on both sides)
1 large Onion
2 large tomatoes
I large green pepper
1/2 Red pepper
10 cloves of garlic
1-2 teaspoons garam Masala
2 -3 cups thick coconut milk
Tamarind sauce
salt to taste
Fresh coriander chopped

Method

Put your sauce pan on heat, put in your fried fish with coconut milk half of what you have and the tamarind sauce , add y half of the onions and cover and let it cook for a while.

Keep on checking to ensure your fish is cooking well.

Grind together the remaining  onions, tomatoes, sweet pepper and garlic.

Add to the fish, along with garam Masala and salt to taste let it cook for a while.

When it gets thick enough add the remaining coconut milk  let it cook for 2- 3mins top it up with coriander and the green pepper / yellow / red optional for garnishing and adding flavor to your fish.

Serve with soft chapati
