#KideroGrass here to stay, Governor

Nairobi Governor Dr. Evans Kidero is on the receiving end yet again after a video of what looks like workers uprooting what has now been termed as ‘Kidero Grass’ surfaced online.

Just last week, Kenyans on Twitter were on his case after he launched a grass rehabilitation project aimed at beautifying Nairobi City before the arrival of U.S. President Barack Obama.

Kenyans on Twitter ridiculed the efforts, questioning how the grass would grow in such a short time.

Governor Kidero told off critics of the ‘#KideroGrass’ last week, saying that the grass was not meant for U.S. President Barack Obama’s visit, rather it was a long-term plan to beautify the City.

Kidero has now come out to defend accusations of workers uprooting the grass. Through his facebook page, he has moved to assure City dwellers that the ‘#KideroGrass’ is safe and is here to stay saying;

‘Please take note that NO ONE is uprooting ‪#‎KideroGrass. The appointed contractor is restoring the ground in order to do the proper planting. #KideroGrass is well on course, the quality of grass selected takes time to grow!’

The hash tag #KideroGrass is still top on the trends with Kenyans on Twitter expressing themselves. This is what some had to say:

KideroGrass1

KideroGrass2

KideroGrass3
