Lil Wayne: I only listen to myself

Rapper Lil Wayne has said he only listens to himself.

In an interview with Bumbu Room, he said that he listened to other genres of music owing to the fact that he does not listen to any other rapper.

”I listen to music that’s not hip-hop all the time because I don’t listen to no other hip-hop but my self. And I only listen to myself,” said Lil Wayne.

In listing his favorite musicians, Weezy only mentioned one rapper Tech9ne with other artists being Reggae legend Bob Marley, Motown star Marvin Gaye and Anita Baker.

The artiste says that his worst habit is never finishing what he started including the songs that he works on in the studio.

”Every song that I ever put out was unfinished,” Lil Wayne said.

He also admitted that he never knows the words to his own song until it’s time to rehearse for show. His manager has to put a song on the list for a performance before he knows the lyrics.

On the current version of hip-hop genre, Weezy says that he likes it noting that its different from what it was when he started out.

According to him, it took a lot of work to come up with the right lyrics but nowadays its much easier. ”You had to spit your heart out,” he said.

”Let’s just make something that it’s cool to hear, we don’t have to listen to it—listening is different than hearing,” Weezy said.
