Local Travel agency eyes African market

Kenya’s online travel sales continue to grow rapidly, supported by factors such as rising internet penetration, improving internet infrastructure and the continuing expansion of online payment options.

Travelport, an international travel business platform, has partnered with a Kenyan travel agency in a partnership that will see the travel agency – Travel Creations – become the first travel agency in Africa to roll out a breakthrough online booking tool.

The new online booking tool – GOL – which is is a complex solution for selling air tickets and other travel services is touted to be a one-stop shop for travelers, offering seamless access to services such as flight bookings and information, access to accommodation options and booking, insurance among other services.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, Ms Zainab Yahya, Chief Executive Officer of Travel Creations said the unique tool would enable faster travel bookings online and provide more choices for customers.
