Mama Kayai confirms Huddah acted as Kayai

Kenyan socialite Huddah Monroe acted as Kayai in popular local drama show Vitimbi in the late ‘90s and early 2000s, Mama Kayai confirmed.

Speaking on NTV’s The Trend Show on FridayMama Kayai, born Mary Khavere, revealed Huddah acted as Kayai for a short period in the program.

“Many do not know Huddah acted as Kayai because she played the role for a short while, before leaving for America,” said Mama Kayai.

Khavere further added that Huddah flexibly fitted different roles in the show.

Ole Matope, who was also part of cast in the program, also confirmed that Huddah indeed acted as Kayai.

“Huddah was supposed to act as Kayai, which she did very well.”

Mama Kayai said she was very familiar with Huddah, but when she left the program, she lost track of her whereabouts.

“I don’t know where she went to, but I hear people call her socialite. I only see her photos doing rounds on social media,” said Mama Kayai.

Mama Kayai revealed Huddah’s acting skills were top notch, and that she could have gone far had she pursued her acting career further.

“Huddah was a good actress, she could have really progressed in the acting industry had she been patient. She might even have been like Lupita,” she opined.

“When she came she was so green in acting and very shy. However, with time she became finer. One good thing about her is that she was a quick learner.”

Ole Matope added that he and Huddah at one point acted set book pieces in various secondary schools where they were paid Sh5000 for their services.

Social media users had earlier taken to the platform to question the truth about Huddah’s claims that she acted in the local comedy Vitimbi.
