THE LEADER WE SEEK

The society has 9,000 registered members.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, a candidate in the election known as David Makali, who owns Sound Africa record company, said his company did not make him as much money as he expected despite the fact that it has 30 records to boast of.

“It looks like our negligence or lack of interest in MCSK has brought us to where we are,” said Makali.

On her part, gospel artistJemimah Thiongo said artistes are hoping to get leadership that will ensure all artistes get paid.

Singer Wahu Kagwi stated that she wanted a leader who is passionate about the job, is transparent and honest.

Her husband Nameless opined that there was a lot of money in the music industry but it does not go to the right people.

He added that artistes want a transparent leadership by a person who has integrity.

“We don’t want emotional or corrupt people, we want wise leadership,” said Nameless.
