Ray Cs social media husband hunt yields 500 proposals

It seems Ray C’s method of husband hunting is the way to go as the 10-point social media wish list has landed the Tanzanian Musician over 500 suitors.

The bongo singer last week posted 10 qualities that she would like her future husband to have, and the Instagram post garnered over one thousand responses.

As blogs and media outlets in the East African region carried the story, the number of comments on the picture increased. Though many told her off for ‘seeking cheap attention’, others took the post seriously and even shared the phone numbers.

The responses were fast and quick forcing Ray C to go back to Instagram to report the overwhelming responses that she got to her post.

“I can’t believe this! I have received so many calls and text messages about my earlier announcement. So far, so good, I have received 500 requests and from the looks of things, I see myself setting wedding bells dates after doing the elimination and choosing on,” read the post.

Ray C was quick to refute claims that message was posted in jest, affirming that she was serious about her search for a suitable husband.

“Many think I am joking, but believe me, I am very serious about this and I urge them to continue sending the request because you could be the lucky one.”

Ray C, who was at the height of her career in the early 2000’s, has had a public battle with drug abuse which saw her loose her career and wealth.

She made a turn for the better when Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete sponsored her through rehabilitation. Since she made her recovery, Ray C has been campaigning against drug abuse in Tanzania.
