Ron Kenoly delivers thrilling performance at Gospel Extravaganza 2016

Pomp and colour defined the much-awaited Gospel Extravaganza 2016 that saw hundreds flock to the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) on Saturday, December 17.

The event which kicked off at 10AM saw performances by Dj Moh, Evagelist Jospeh Shisia, Pitson, Mecry Masika, Ben Githae, Gloria Muliro, Esther Wahome, David Hunter, Lilian Rotich, Size 8 and Willy Paul among others who charged up the crowd in anticipation for the main act of the day, gospel artiste Dr Ron Kenoly.

The event, which was sponsored by Royal Media, Cocacola, TrueBlaq and Livegigs, kicked off on a slow note but saw a huge turnout later in theday, with the crowd singing along with the performers.

There was an emotional momemt when popular MC and former radio host Big Kev was brought to the podium on a wheelchair.  Big Kev, who has undergone 13 surgeries that has left him blind and partially paralysed, moved the audience to tears as he narrated his life testimony.

Dr Ron Kenoly took the stage at 6:45 PM and gave a performance well worth the price on the ticket as the audience sang along to his hits.

The event that was meant to end at 8PM finally came to a close at 10PM as the crowd took the opportunity to take selfies with the world-renowned singer and his famous band.

“Best show ever!  Now this is real gospel music, ” said Mr Martin Amunze who had turned up for the event with his family.

Well if you missed the #GospelExtravaganza2016 don’t worry.  Next year it will be back.  Bigger. Better.
