Safaricom Jazz Lounge attracts international sensation Dianne Reaves

American Jazz singer Dianne Reaves, a five-time Grammy Award winner, will be headlining the popular Safaricom Jazz Lounge next month.

Reeves who has also featured in movies such as George Clooney’s, Good Night, and Good Luck will be backed by Italy’s Double Cut band and Kenyan guitarist Kato Change.

This year’s show has an additional session at Hells Gate, Naivasha on October 20 which coincides with Mashujaa Day.

““We are honoured to partner with Safaricom for Jazz in the Park edition. It will be an opportunity for us to showcase Kenya to the performers from the United States and remind Kenyans what a beautiful country we live in,” said Andy Muir, General Manager, Enashipai Resort.

Safaricom Jazz Lounge brings together both local and international musicians: apart from Kenyan guitarist Kato Change, upcoming Kenyan band AdHoc will also be featured.

“We are honoured to be yet again hosting one of the most influential jazz musicians in the world for the concerts in October. As we promised when we launched Safaricom Jazz in 2014, we will keep bringing world-class talent for Kenyan jazz fans,” said Bob Collymore, CEO, Safaricom.

This will be Reeves’ first performance at the Safaricom Jazz Lounge, which is one of a series of events that lead up to the annual Safaricom International Jazz Festival that takes place in February.
