Why gospel singer Bahati is our #TBT this week

21-year-old gospel artist Bahati is at the top of his game having been in the music industry for only two years now.

The singer has been able to achieve that which many artists strive for in decades, but Bahati’s current shine has not come easily. He passed through difficulties on his road to fame.

He grew up in Mathare slums at ABC Children’s Home after he lost his mother.

When he cleared high school and did not have the resources to go to university, he resorted to music as escape.

Bahati is now a father of three adopted children: Rose 10, Morgan 4 and Purity 4.The Machozi singer adopted his three children in a bid to give back to society, and touch people’s lives. In May Bahati said that his three children are his prime motivation to do better things in life.

“These are the beautiful souls that make me wake up and hustle each day…. Each one of them has a sadder story than mine. I may not give them all they want, but my desire is to see them prosper and testify to the world about God’s goodness someday. It’s never easy but I try to be the best parent they have ever seen.”
