Why Martha Karua doesn’t support sex lessons in schools

Narc Kenya Chairperson Martha Karua has said that sex lessons should not be taught in schools since a majority of students have the information they need.

Karua, who was speaking at Kanja in Runyenjes, said that pupils and students already have information about sexuality and there is no need to bombard them with more information.

“When pupils in class five are able to recite poems which have sexual undertones, what more do you need to teach them? They are aware of the information,” Karua said.

The 2017 presidential hopeful said that the Ministry of Education ought to allow Kenyans give their views on the matter,

Karua adds that public participation is the only way to go if the country would like to make the best decision when it comes to the sex education debate.
