1 dead, 2 injured in motorcycle head-on collision

One person died and two others were injured following a road accident involving two motorcycles at Aringo along the Sori-Sidika road in Nyatike, Migori County.

Confirming the Sunday morning incident, Central Karungu Location Chief Isack Bungu said one of the riders identified as Boy Otieno, died on the spot.

The other rider as well as a passenger reportedly sustained serious injuries and were admitted at Sori Lake Side Hospital.

According to the administrator, the riders, who were moving in opposite directions, had a head-on collision.

He, however, stated that investigations were still ongoing to establish who was on the wrong.

The body of the deceased was moved to Sori Lake Side Hospital Mortuary.

Mr. Bungu also cautioned road users to be keen when traveling during the night to minimize accidents.
