The two gunmen, who were riding on a motorcycle, shot the Orthodox Church priest in the leg before robbing him of Ksh.30,000.

Despite sustaining gunshot wound, the clergyman, who was driving to church for a meeting, decided to pursue the thugs as they rode away on the motorcycle.

On seeing that the priest was fast approaching, one of thugs jumped off the bike and fled while the other, who was armed with a pistol stopped for a face-off with the man of God.

The priest, who was driving at high speed, rammed into the motorcycle and floored the armed thug before hitting the boy who was on the road side.

A crowd that had gathered to witness the dramatic chase, began roughing up the thug but he was rescued from a mob-lynching by police.

The injured priest was taken to a hospital in Nairobi while the body of the deceased child was moved to Kihara Hospital mortuary.
