Boy, 10, defiled and killed in Nakuru while collecting firewood

Grief has struck Soliat village in Kuresoi North, Nakuru after the body of a 10-year-old Class 3 boy was found dumped at a maize farm.

The boy had been sent by his mother to collect firewood earlier in the day but had not returned several hours later.

A search party comprising more than 200 villagers combed the region, discovering the minor’s body at around 9pm on Thursday.

Reports say the boy was attacked and defiled between 4 and 7pm on Thursday before his body was discovered in a sack.

Soliat Village Elder Samuel Langat confirmed the incident, saying the minor’s body had been tied up by her attacker.

The minor’s Albert Kurgat said his daughter did not return home after leaving the homestead to collect firewood in a thicket nearby.

After raising alarm, over 200 people convened at the homestead and began the frantic search.

Police from Kuresoi Police Station arrived at 3am and moved the body to the Molo Hospital Morgue.
