11 Ethiopian Nationals Arrested In Embu

Embu West OCPD Elphis Korir said that the 11 were intercepted at a road block when police flagged down a Toyota Probox for over loading and speeding.

Korir said that the 5am arrest was a major success as illegal migrants from Ethiopia and Somalia have been using the route to cross to other countries through Nairobi.

The OCPD added that the driver of the car is being interrogated after he confessed that this was his second trip ferrying illegal migrants from Ethiopia.

The 11 are being held up at Embu Police Station as police are seeking an interpreter as all the 11 can neither speak Kiswahili nor English.

All the documents they had possesseion of were written in Arabic and none of the police officers could understand it.

Korir called upon residents to continue giving police information as some of the immigrants could be terror suspects.
