11 killed in Kakamega, Bungoma road accidents

Eleven people died in two separate accidents in Kakamega and Bungoma on Friday afternoon.

The first accident claimed the lives of six people after a head-on collision between a PSV matatu and a tractor ferrying sugarcane at the notorious Kamukuywa bridge on the Kitale-Webuye road.

In the second accident, five people died after their PSV matatu, reported to have been speeding lost control rolling into a river at Lunyerere area on the Kisumu-Kakamega road.

One passenger is said to have died on the spot while four others died as they were receiving treatment at the Vihiga District hospital.
