11 more coronavirus cases in Kenya, 3 of them had contact with deceased Mombasa herbalist

Kenya has tested an additional 11 cases of the new coronavirus, bringing the tally to 281.

The cases are aged between 11 and 80 years old.

Seven of the new cases are from Mombasa; 3 from Bondeni, 1 from Miritini and three others from other parts of Mombasa town.

The rest of the four cases are from Ruaka in Kiambu county.

Five of the new cases are from persons currently in government isolation centres while the rest were picked by the government’s surveillance team.

Ministry of Health CS Mutahi Kagwe noted that the infected persons do not have any recent travel history.

Three of the infections from Mombasa are the contacts of the herbalist who succumbed to the virus a week ago.

At the same time, two patients among them a doctor have recovered from the virus.

The total number of those who have recovered so far is 69 while the number of fatalities from the virus remains 14 people.

Kenya has so far tested 13872 samples since the first case was reported.
