11 suspects arraigned over shooting porn movies released

Eleven suspects arrested for allegedly shooting porn movies in Nyali, Mombasa County, were on Tuesday freed on cash bail after denying the charges in court.

Appearing before Shanzu Law Courts Principal Magistrate Florence Maina, nine women out of the eleven suspects were released on a bond of Ksh.50,000 and surety of a similar amount or a cash bail of Ksh.20,000.

The remaining two suspects believed to have been running the pornography business were freed on a bond of Ksh.100,000 and surety of a similar amount or a cash bail of Ksh.50,000.

The duo, Enock Elisha Ochieng and Mercelline Atieno Onyango, were accused of being the proprietors of an online web cam service that was being used to conduct the business.

The case was set for mentioning on July 30 and hearing on November 25, 2019.

The 11 were arrested on Friday last week during a raid in a house in Nyali where 16 laptops, cameras, mobile phones, flash disks and sex dolls were discovered.
