13 Year Old Boy Shot Dead In West Pokot

The shooting has sparked tension in the area with Orwa villagers protesting the shooting

The boy was herding livestock with his father and other villagers when the armed assailants numbering three struck killing him.

The raiders did not however steal anything.

Residents say such attacks have been on the rise especially on grazing fields between Orwa and Turkwel along Kapenguria-Lodwar highway.

The residents are calling for action to contain the situation.

Lilian Loyakim, a relative of the deceased condemned the killing saying such attacks had become rampant.

She added that many such incidents have gone unreported.

West Pokot County Assembly Minority Leader David Moiben has called on the national government to quickly intervene in the border disputes to prevent further attacks.
