14 injured after Simba Coach bus rams into lorry on Kisumu-Nairobi highway
14 passengers aboard a Simba Coach bus were injured following an accident on the Kisumu-Nairobi highway.
According to the Kenya Red Cross, the injured were rushed to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital.
The bus driver who is said to have sustained serious leg injuries, is among those receiving treatment at the hospital in Kisumu.
During the 11pm accident at Awasi, the Kampala-bound bus that was coming from Mombasa rammed into a stationary trailer from behind.
The trailer veered off the road due to the impact which caused a huge traffic snarl up on the busy Kisumu-Nairobi highway.
Some passengers are however said to have escaped unhurt and reportedly boarded other vehicles to proceed with their journey.
