14 Kenyan truck drivers among 43 new Covid-19 cases in Uganda

Fourteen Kenyan truck drivers are among 43 new positive cases of Covid-19 in Uganda, the country’s Ministry of Health has said.

Nine of the 14 tested positive in Elegu while the other 5 were recorded in Malaba; they were among 1,838 samples of truck drivers tested.

The other 29 cases were recorded in Elegu (15 Ugandans, 4 Eritreans), Mutukula (5 Tanzanians, 1 Burundian) and Malaba (2 Ugandans, 1 Burundian, and 1 of unknown nationality).

This now takes the total tally of coronavirus cases in Uganda to 203, with 63 recoveries.
