14 students arrested for drugs, sex orgy in a rented house in Naivasha

Police in Naivasha are holding 14 students, including two girls from a primary school, after they were allegedly found having sex, smoking bhang and drinking alcohol in a rented house.

The secondary schools students had rented a house in Kabati estate where they held a house party over the weekend. They were however nabbed Monday before they could conclude their three-day stay.

Among the arrested students included 12 from Naivasha Day Secondary School while others were drawn from different institutions around Naivasha town, including Magereza, Highway Secondary School and Naivasha Central Primary School.

Shocked parents and teachers milled at Naivasha Police Station after the arrest in which several rolls of bhang and condoms were recovered.

“When we swung into action after a tip-off, we nabbed some of the students drunk while others were high on bhang,” said an officer attached to Naivasha Police Station.

Speaking in confidence, a teacher from one of the schools confirmed the incident saying the students were undergoing counseling.

“The students who included primary school girls were allegedly having sex, drinking alcohol and smoking bhang before police moved in and arrested them,” said the teacher.

Another parent said the students had lied that they were going to a nearby church for preparations ahead of a music competition.

“We are still reeling in shock because our children told us that they were going to church, only to be informed that they had been arrested,” said the parent.

Naivasha Sub County Commissioner Isaac Masinde confirmed the incident, saying investigations have been launched into the matter.

“Officers from the education office and the security officers are currently handling the issue by speaking to the students and their parents,” said Mr Masinde.

Last term, Commissioner Masinde ordered for the demolition of illegal structures near schools, terming them as drug dens.

Masinde further directed that all bars near learning institutions be closed down.
