Boy, 14, arrested in connection with murder of Pamoja FM journalist
Detectives from the DCI have arrested a 14-year-old boy in connection with the murder of the 62-year-old Pamoja FM journalist, Mohamed Hassan.
The juveline was identified after an analysis of CCTV footage. He was in a group of four others who accosted the journalist who was headed home from work on the fateful day.
The gang was seen in the footage robbing the newsman violently, before stabbing him on the left side of the chest, killing him on the spot.
His body was discovered lying on the road at Makina near Kibera Law Courts in the wee hours of Monday, May 4.
One member of the gang had been lynched by irate members of the public before the heinous Sunday night crime.
Detectives are pursuing three others who are at large and one woman who is said to have been harbouring them at her house.
Until his death, Mohamed Hassan was one of the founders of the community-based Islamic radio station which opened its doors in 2006.
On the fateful day, he had just left the studio after hosting his popular ‘Ukumbi wa Kiislamu‘ show
