A 15-year-old teen from Majimbo village, Kirinyaga County shocked his entire village after he re-emerged just two weeks after his burial.

Moses Fundi is reported to have returned home on Tuesday night after his family had already ‘buried’ him a fortnight ago.

Fundi’s mother, Joyce Njoka, said the family was informed of Fundi’s death on July 29 after his “body” was found on the Embu-Nairobi highway.

Ms Njoka told Citizen Digital that the family went to Embu Level Five mortuary where they identified Fundi’s body.

“Fundi left home two months ago on June 13 and did not return. Two weeks ago, we were informed that his body had been found in Mururi village and we are very shocked to see him return,” Ms Njoka said.

Ms Njoka said financial constraints they the burial was delayed as the family struggled to raise funds to pay for mortuary and funeral costs.

Now the family is calling on authorities to intervene and help the family identify the person that they buried.
