17 suspected MRC members arrested at house in Diani
Police have arrested 17 suspected members of the outlawed Mombasa Republican Council (MRC) in Diani, Kwale County.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the suspects aged between 41 and 84 years were nabbed on Tuesday “as they assembled at a house in Kibundani area.”
The DCI further said that police had recovered membership registers and contributions at the said house.
The suspects are set to be arraigned in court on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, three other suspects were also arrested on Tuesday for allegedly stealing from a Chinese Water Tunnel Construction Company at Mairi site.
According to the DCI, the arrest of the three; Paul Maina Muniu, Peter Ndua Kilele and Ezekiel Maina Mwangi came after several items were earlier reported stolen from the company.
“Three Men have been arrested and several items earlier reported stolen, recovered within Nairobi. The suspects-Paul Maina Muniu, Peter Ndua Kilele and Ezekiel Maina Mwangi broke into a Chinese Water Tunnel Construction Company at Mairi site & stole the items,” said the DCI in a tweet.
The three are set to be charged on Wednesday.
