19-year-old boy arrested after confessing to killing granny, 86, in Rarieda
An 86-year-old woman was found dead inside her house on Monday morning at the Got-Bondo village in Central Asembo location amid suspicion that she was killed by her grandson on Sunday night.
The body of Jael Akuro Orundu was found while lying in a pool of blood inside her house whose door appeared to been broken down.
According to the area assistant chief Maurice Omondi, the grandmother’s 19 year-old-grandson Maxton Omondi Otieno has since been arrested after he admitted having been behind the brutal murder of the elderly woman.
The administrator revealed that the suspect, who has been staying with the elderly mother, was arrested and locked up at Aram Police station after his clothes were found with blood and upon interrogation, he admitted having been responsible for the murder.
Speaking to Radio Ramogi, Omondi said the motive behind the gruesome murder has not been established.
Probe into the cold-blooded killing has been launched.
The body of the deceased was moved to Bondo sub-county hospital mortuary awaiting an autopsy.
