2 Blasts Rock Abuja Bus Station, Nigeria

Two buses full of people were struck and people were running around in panic.

There are said to be many casualties, according to reports quoting witnesses.

The blast occurred as commuters were about to board buses and taxis to go to work in Central Abuja.

Eyewitness Badamsi Nyanya said he had seen 40 bodies being evacuated.

"This morning there was an explosion at the Nyanya Motor Park," Manzo Ezekiel of the National Emergency Management Agency said.

He added that rescue teams are on the ground.

Nigeria has been faced with a series of attacks in the past few months with Nigeria’s Islamism group Boko Haram causing havoc through a wave of bombings.
