2 Chiefs Face The Sack Over Drunkardness

The two chiefs, Japheth Muriithi and Patrick Irungu have been given 21 days to explain why action should not be taken against for being drunk while at work.

Embu Regional Co-ordinator Clare Omollo has interdicted the chiefs and asked them to show cause why they should not be fired.

Muriithi represents Kagaari South West Location while Irungu represents Nthagaiya Sub location.

According to Embu East deputy County Commissioner, the two chiefs have been interdicted for violating work ethics by drinking during working hours.

The two chiefs were arrested two months ago for violating Alcohol and Drinking Act when they were found drinking in a bar at Kagaari South West location.

According to the administrator, members of the public were denied services when they went to seek service from them.

The two now have 21 days to reply to the letter from Regional Commissioner who will decide whether the officers should be dismissed from service.
