2 Kenyans Abducted in Somalia

Reports from Mogadishu say the two men were abducted at gunpoint as they drove in South Mogadishu

The driver of the vehicle managed to escape unharmed as the two were being abducted.

Sources say that although the two men were in military uniforms, they were engineers working in a firm in Mogadishu.

Their identities however remain unclear.

The Monday incident is not the first of its kind.

In the past, there have been cases of Kenyans being abducted in the country.

Mule Yesse and Fredrick Irungu Wainaina were released late last year after almost two years in the hands of Al-Shabaab.

In a separate incident, two Kenyan Aid workers and a Somali doctor were kidnapped in 2012 in Northern Sudan.

So far, no one has claimed responsibility over the kidnapping of the two Kenyan nationals.
