2 Killed, Livestock Stolen In Baringo Raid

11 houses were raided during the Saturday incident.

Tension remains high in the area.

The suspected raiders who are said to be from East Pokot and the neighbouring Tiaty Constituency raided the area in broad daylight and fled with more than 3000 goats, killing two people in the process.

Speaking at Kabel trading centre, Charles Kamuren the county’s spokes person said that the raiders had made residents flee from their homes for fear of their lives.

He noted that up to 16 schools in the region have been forced to close down as parents have fled with their children to neighbouring Laikipia County.

Kamuren is now calling on the government to intervene.

He has also urged the Tiaty M.P Asman Kamama, who is also the chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Security, to ensure that attackers from his constituency are contained.
