2 managers charged with swindling Ksh 29.7M

Two managers of a company in Kisauni, Mombasa have been charged with swindling people a total of Ksh. 29.7 million.

The two suspects Jesse Mwangi alias Robi Were and Ben Gacharia alias Fredrick Kaguthai were charged with 11 counts of obtaining goods by false pretenses.

The suspects were working for Blak International Company which has since been closed down.

They appeared before Senior Principal Magistrate Richard Odenyo.

The court heard that Mwangi who had been known by people as the information and communication manager and his accomplice Gacharia, a procurement manager intended to defraud the company of goods worth ksh 29M.

They obtained various goods including foodstuff and computers from their victims but closed shop after delivery of the goods without paying for them.

The two were denied bond.

Hearing of the case is set for January 22, 2016.
