20 people escape death narrowly following grisly road accident

Eighteen people have been injured, three of them critically, after a bus plying Mombasa-Nairobi route was involved in a grisly road accident at Kautandini in Makueni County on Wednesday morning.

According to eyewitnesses, the driver of the bus, belonging to the Coast Bus Company, lost control of the vehicle and rolled severally.

Confirming the incident, Mukaa OCPD Anthony Mbogo said the bus that was headed to Mombasa from Nairobi was trying to avoid hitting another car and in the process lost control.

The injured were rushed to a private hospital in Konza Town following the ongoing Kenya medical Practitioners and Dentists Union’ (KMPDU) strike that has paralysed operations in most public hospitals.

Mbogo has cautioned drivers to be careful especially during this festive season.
