2017 will be a walkover for CORD- Midiwo

Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo has exuded confidence that 2017 General Elections, which will pit President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party against the Coalition for reforms and Democracy (CORD), will be a walk-over for Opposition.

According to Jakoyo, the forthcoming polls will be the easiest because the elections will be between reformists and non-reformists, adding that CORD has no strong competitor this time round.

The legislator has therefore called on ODM and CORD supporters not to lose hope, stating that they should prepare adequately by ensuring they acquire national ID and voters’ cards to be able to propel CORD leader Raila Odinga to the top leadership of this country.

The Gem MP was speaking in Alego-Usonga constituency where he called on political leaders to embrace peaceful coexistence during this electioneering period to avert loss of lives.

He stated that the leaders who will be elected in various posts will just be the sons and daughters of Siaya County, therefore there will be no need for violence in any political discussions.

Speaking at the same function, Siaya politician William Oduol dismissed claims that he swallowed his ambition for the Siaya gubernatorial seat in favor of Rarieda MP Nicholas Gumbo.

Oduol laughed off claims that he wanted to be Gumbo’s running mate, maintaining that he was firmly in the gubernatorial race.
