2022 win not a guarantee, Kalonzo tells Ruto

Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has taken issue with Deputy President William Ruto over the latter’s 2022 presidential ambitions saying he should not think a win is guaranteed.

Speaking in Bomet during Governor Isaac Ruto’s homecoming party, Kalonzo promised to give the deputy president a run for his money in the 2022 race saying: “You can’t say that you will win in 2022 because Kalonzo can beat you.”

The Wiper leader also accused the DP of “stealing Members of Parliament” from his Ukambani home turf, adding that Ruto would be embarrassed in 2017, as the people of Ukambani would not vote for him.

He accused the Jubilee Administration of using coercion to intimidate Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto, and promised to stand with him in the face of intimidation.

Mr Musyoka further accused Jubilee of trying to push the polls date forward, saying they (opposition) would rise against any attempt to tamper with the election timelines.

“We are ready to resume demonstrations if what we agreed on elections will not be met,” he said.

Kalonzo was among key opposition leaders present at Governor Isaac Ruto’s homecoming ceremony in Bomet Town.

Other prominent opposition leaders who graced the event include KANU’s Gideon Moi, Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi, ODM Chairman John Mbadi and KANU Secretary General Nick Salat among others.

The leaders used the occasion to champion for the formation of an all-inclusive opposition coalition dubbed the Super Alliance Coalition.

Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto, who won his seat on a Jubilee ticket, has rebelled against the party and formed his own political outfit.
