21 pupils injured in road accident

Twenty-one pupils from St Michael Primary School were reportedly injured, three of them critically, after their school bus was involved in an accident at Kiongwani along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway.

The pupils were on their way to Mombasa from Kitui for an academic trip before the driver allegedly lost control of the bus and landed in a ditch.

Elsewhere, police in Bungoma are investigating an incident in which the body of a bodaboda operator was on Sunday found outside the gate of a resident at Sio in Kanduyi, Bungoma County.

According to Fred Simiyu, a watchman at the house, a group of men dumped the body at around 4am and fled.

The body had not been identified by the time of publishing.
