25 foreigners arrested in Kisii
Twenty-five foreigners have been arrested following a week long police crackdown on illegal aliens in Kisii County.
Kisii OCPD Francis Nguli confirmed the arrests saying 14 of those nabbed are from Tanzania, while the rest include Uganda and Burundi nationals.
According to Mr. Nguli, the foreigners did not have credentials allowing them to stay or conduct any business in the country. He added that the suspects will be interrogated before they are arraigned in court on Tuesday.
Police officers said 14 of those taken to custody are Tanzanians.
The OCPD warned that stern action would be taken against local residents providing refuge to foreigners who move into the country illegally.
Majority of those arrested were found to be hairdressers and traders in second hand goods including clothing.
