27  Garbatulla students suspended for refusing to write exams

27 students of Garbatulla Boys High school in Isiolo County were on Wednesday suspended after refusing to sit for their mock examinations.

Speaking to Citizen Digital, the School Principal, Haru Boru, confirmed that the student refused to write the exams saying that they were not ready.

According to the Principal, the decision to suspend them was reached after the school’s Board of Management convened an urgent meeting to discuss the issue and resolved that they are sent home.

 

“I called the Board of School Management immediately the 27 refused to sit for the exams and we discussed the issue and agreed that they are suspended immediately,” said Boru.

He added that the move was in an effort was also aimed at cushioning the school against any cases of unrest following the high number of unruly cases being reported across the country.
