27 Killed After Consumption Of Illicit Brew

The deaths occurred overnight in Embu, Kiambu and Kitui counties.

The victims are said to have consumed the deadly brew that was laced with methanol.

In Embu, 17 people died after consuming the brew at Shauri Yako slums.

In Kiambu County, the number of the dead was four people.

All the victims were young people who resided in Gwa Gatu village in Limuru constituency.

10 other people who consumed the same drink are in critical condition.

Kiambu County Commissioner Esther Maina visited victims of the deadly brew at Nazareth Hospital and pledged to take action against the culprits.

In Kitui County, 6 people died after consuming illicit brew.
