2yr-old tests positive for coronavirus in Kenya as number of cases rise to 191

A 2-year-old child is one of the two new cases of coronavirus in Kenya, Health CAS Mercy Mwangangi revealed on Saturday.

Dr. Mwangangi said the child has no history of travel neither does the other patient who is 32 years old.

“Both were picked by our surveillance teams. One is Kenyan and the other foreigner,” she said.

The two are from Mombasa and Nairobi.  491 samples were tested and it is from this batch that the two tested positive.

This now brings the total number of coronavirus cases in Kenya to 191: 109 are male while 82 are female.

According to the CAS, 2,054 contacts have been monitored so far and 1546 discharged.

The remaining number of contacts being followed up are 581.

Two more people have also been discharged bringing the total number of recovered patients in Kenya to 24.
