3 Inmates Shot In Escape Attempt

One officer was also injured after he was shot by mistake as the prisoners made the attempt to flee at Nyan-Siongo area.

The prisoners tried to escape as they were being escorted back to prison.

Separately, seven administration police officers and their families were left homeless after a huge fire gutted down their houses at Nanyuki prison on Friday morning.

The fire is suspected to have been caused by an electrical fault.
