3 members of one family die, 12 injured in grisly road crash

Three people died while 12 others were injured in a grisly road accident involving a Nissan matatu and a bus at Kamureito area along the Bomet-Kisii highway.

The matatu had been hired by members of a family that was attending the graduation of one of their kin at Maasai Mara University in Narok.

Confirming the incident, Bomet County Commandant Leah Kithel said the 3am accident took place when the Nissan matatu collided with an Easy Coach bus headed in the opposite direction.

“The Easy Coach bus was coming from Nairobi towards Kisii while the matatu was headed to Narok from Cherangany,” she said.

The injured were rushed to Kaplong Mission Hospital and Kapkatet County Hospital in Kericho where they are receaving treatment.
