3 Suspected Poachers Shot Dead In Tsavo

Confirming the incident, county police boss Richard Bitonga says KWS and police officers waylaid the poachers following a tip off from members of the public before they engaged them in a fierce gun battle.

Bitonga says police recovered a rifle, several rounds of ammunition, an assortment of crude weapons and elephant teeth.

The police boss added that KWS, regular and administration officers are hunting down poachers in Tsavo park in the operation that comes days after Kenya’s oldest elephant Satao was shot dead by poachers at Jipe in the county.
