30 Al Shabaab militants killed at AMISOM base

At least 30 Al shabaab militants were killed in a fierce gun battle after attacking an AMISOM base in Somalia’s Lower Shabelle region on Sunday night.

The terrorists had attacked the AMISOM base in Quoryole, Bulomareer, and Golwein killing four soldiers and injuring six others.

The heavily armed group had eight vehicles including two that had Improvised Explosive Devices and an assortment of weapons.

“AMISOM honors the brave soldiers, who are resolute in continuing to neutralize the insurgents in order to restore peace and stability in Somalia,” said AMISOM spokesperson Lt. Colonel Wilson Rono.
