36 dead, 18 injured in horror crash at Migaa

At least 36 people have died in a horror crash and 18 others seriously injured after a bus collided head-on with a truck at the Migaa blackspot on the busy Nakuru-Eldoret highway, police have confirmed.

The accident happened at 3am about 3km from the scene another accident which claimed 20 lives on December 12.

Speaking at the crash scene, Rongai OCPD Japhet Kioko said the injured have been rushed to Nakuru Level V Hospital for treatment and bodies moved to the facility’s mortuary.

The Nairobi-bound bus was ferrying 51 passengers from Busia.

Police report shows that the brakes of the bus failed and the driver subsequently lost control of the vehicle and collided head on with an oncoming trailer. The drivers of the two vehicles died on the spot.
