30 minors arrested drinking in a club in Migori

Thirty minors and two adults were on Thursday arrested after they were found drinking in a bar and detained at Isebania police station.

The minors; 19 girls and 11 boys, were arrested while clubbing at Robi club in Isebania town, Kuria West sub county.

Migori County Criminal Investigation Officer Njeru Nyaga said the minors were found drinking alcohol at the club during a crackdown conducted by police.

Mr. Nyaga said the manager of the bar, identified as Amos Murimi and the bar DJ Victor Ocharo were also arrested during the crackdown and will be charged for allowing minors to use their facility.

The police boss said the crackdown followed complains raised by the locals who have been spotting minors accessing the club.

Police are currently engaging the children’s department on how best to deal with the minors.
