30-year-old woman killed by 24-year-old boyfriend in Bomet

A 30-year-old woman was on Saturday night killed by her 24-year-old boyfriend at Korongei village in Bomet County.

Confirming the incident, Konoin Sub-county police boss Alex Shikondi said the body of Mercy Chepkorir had multiple injuries most of them being on the thighs, hands and face.

She was found lying dead on the bed in her boyfriend’s house.

It is believed that the deceased and her boyfriend had a confrontation last night leading to a fight.

“We received information today in the morning about the incident, I dispatched the officers to investigate and preliminary reports show she was murdered. The first thing we noticed was soaked beddings with fresh blood,” said the police boss.

The suspect, Cosmas Mutai has been arrested and held at Mogogosiek Police Station.

The body of the deceased was moved to Kapkatet mortuary.
