4 Chinese nationals to be deported from Kenya at 8am tomorrow

The four Chinese nationals who were arrested after one of them was caught on video caning a Kenyan worker, are set to be deported back to their country of origin on Thursday at 8am.

This is in accordance with a court order issued on Wednesday by the Milimani High Court directing the repatriation of the four: Deng Hailan, Chang Yueping, Ou Qiang and Yu Ling.

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) based at Kilimani who were holding the foreigners have since handed them over to Immigration Department officers.

The flight carrying the four is expected to leave the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) at 8:30am.

An order for their deportation had previously been halted by the High Court after the four suspects filed an application challenging the order.

In a consecutive hearing, the prosecution told the Milimani Court that the deportation had been delayed as they sought to reach the complainant.

On Tuesday, the lawyer representing the four Chinese nationals said his clients were ready to be deported back to their home country.

Abdulhakim Abdullahi said his clients had suffered and were ready to go back to China as had been ordered by the State.
