4 Day Old Child Cut Across The Mouth At Birth In West Pokot

A newborn baby girl in West Pokot has spent the first four days of her life in hospital following a delivery gone wrong. The baby suffered a deep razor blade cut across her mouth from an unskilled birth attendant who helped her mother to deliver. This even as Kenya hopes to meet its target to have 90% of mothers assisted to deliver by skilled midwifes by the year 2015 in line with the millennium development goals.
