4 Dead In Raid Attack, Turkana

The raiders said to be about 500 struck at 10pm and opened fire indiscriminately killing four people on the spot before driving away over 2,000 animals.

Means of transport between Lodwar and Kitale has been paralyzed as irate residents blocked the road to protest the attack.

Attempts by police to unblock the road resulted in a fierce gun battle between them and the residents.

More security personnel have been deployed to the area to track down the raiders and recover the stolen animals.
