4 killed in grisly accident at Ringa on Kericho-Nakuru highway

Four people were killed after following a grisly accident at Ringa on the Kericho-Nakuru highway.

Kericho County police commander Silas Gichunge said the accident occurred after a Probox and a Nissan X-trail collided head on.

According to Gichung, the driver of the Probox which was heading towards Kericho was speeding and lost control of his vehicle.

He veered off his lane and collided with the X-trail which was heading towards Nakuru.

Four people who were in the Probox including the driver died on the spot while others sustained serious injuries.

They were rushed to various hospitals in Kericho.

Gichunge said officers were yet to ascertain the exact number of people who have been rushed to the hospital.

The bodies of the deceased were still lying at the scene of the accident by the time of publishing this article.

On December 17 last year, three people perished while 11 others were injured following an accident on the Kericho-Litein road.

A Nissan matatu collided with a trailer outside Exotic Hotel.

Police boss Gichunge said two people died on the spot another passenger was pronounced dead on arrival at Kericho Sub County Hospital.

According to him, the driver of the Nissan matatu which was heading towards Kericho tried to overtake three other vehicles.
